AI Tools

As part of the ███████████████, we’ve been exploring and evaluating various AI tools that could potentially benefit our team and partners. Below we’ve categorized these tools to provide a comprehensive overview of AI solutions across different domains.*

Content Generator and Research Tools

  • Perplexity – pulls together information from multiple sources and asks follow-up questions to refine searches, creating a more interactive research experience. It provides links to sources, allowing users to verify information and explore topics further. “Perplexity Pages” allows users to transform researched topics into comprehensive content, but users cannot directly edit the generated text within the platform.
  • ChatGPT – generates responses based on its training data. It doesn’t offer direct citations. Can be be more versatile for creative writing tasks.
  • Jetpack AI – Very helpful for content generation in the Block editor. Can build block patters, tables, etc. based on prompts. Can also generate excerpts, category, tags, and meta descriptions based on the posts content.

Image Generator Tools

  • Midjourney – Lets you create up to 25 images for free on a temporary free trial; no need to go through Discord. Starts at $10/month for 200 images. The tool produces high-quality, artistic images.
  • DALL-E 3 – Available through ChatGPT Plus subscription ($20/month). High-quality images and ability to edit image details. Lack of diversity without prompting.
  • Microsoft Designer – aka Canva competitor. It uses DALL-E 2 to create images from text prompts, but we can also start with an image template. Users get 15 free generations a day, or 100 images for $20/month. Lots of diversity in the images.
  • Adobe Firefly – Integrated into Adobe’s suite of tools, produces commercially-safe images.
  • Jetpack AI – Can generate images directly in the block editor and featured images based on the posts content and context.

Image Enhancement Tools

  • Super Resolution – an open-source tool for enhancing low-quality images. The results were significantly better when compared to previous tools we’ve looked at (e.g., Upscale). It does a great job of maintaining image quality without distortion, especially for images without text—it does unfortunately distort the text.
  • Lets Enhance – allows users to upscale images to higher resolutions and enhance clarity with a single click. The subscription model works on a credit system, where 1 credit equals 1 processed image. Users can get 10 free credits upon signing up, then pay $9/month for 100 credits.
  • Fotor – includes a free trial, the pro version is only $5.99 a month.
  • Pixelcut – easy to use, $9.99 a month.
  • Nero AI – offers 10 free uses but it is not as great as the others.
  • Upscale Media – This could be a good option for folks who only have a couple of images to enhance, as you get 3 free credits and downloads.

Process Documentation Tools

  • ChatGPT – can be used as an initial step when embarking on new projects, such as developing steps or instructions for a new process or workflow.
  • Scribe – creates written documentation based on your clicks inside an interface.
  • Bardeen – workflow task automation. It can be used to automate various tasks performed by connecting common apps like Google SheetsNotionHubSpot, and other integrations (i.e., periodically uploading a screenshot of a web page to Google Drive). This tool is also used for sales prospecting, talent sourcing, customer support, and data extraction (i.e., web scraping). It offers a 14-day trial.
  • Loom – enhances video messaging by automating various tasks such as generating titles, summaries, chapters, and removing filler words and silences, making it easier for users to create polished videos quickly; $4/month per creator.
  • Screen Studio – professional screen recording software designed for macOS; tailored to product demos and tutorials. It features automatic zooming on the cursor, smooth cursor animations, and customizable settings to enhance video quality.
