For projects that our team works on we have a family of hosting options that we use to ensure your site will be secure, perform well, and handle high traffic levels.
The hosts we use most often WordPress.com and Pressable, which:
- Managed WordPress hosting: automatic core WordPress and security updates
- Performance is optimized for WordPress-specific hosting needs
- Automatic nightly backups
- Automatic scaling to handle traffic spikes
- Allows SFTP access
- Control panel to adjust site settings, purge cached URLs, SSL certificate management and other features
For developers on your team planning to work with custom themes and plugins on Pressable, these notes may be helpful:
- Caching and CDN information
- Cloning your website
- Using SFTP for uploading files
- Troubleshooting errors
- PHP Info on Pressable
- There is no log access
- WP CLI scripts will need to be run by our team
- Load testing services may be blocked
- WXR import files uploaded to the media library may be limited in size
