The State of Community

This dynamic site explores Gen Z marketing trends with an interactive, Geocities-inspired design, drag-and-drop elements, and a unique “No Chaos Mode”—blending creativity and functionality for an engaging user experience.

The website dives into the four key trends shaping how brands connect with Gen Z, a generation seeking meaningful communities in an increasingly fragmented digital world. With marketing professionals feeling the chaos of engaging with young consumers, the website embraced that very energy—creating playful, immersive, and highly interactive experiences.

Inspired by the nostalgic Geocities aesthetic, the site is packed with GIFs, draggable MacOS-style folders, and floating windows as vehicles for content. Each trend is visually distinct, with elements like glitch art and pixel stretching reinforcing the themes. Hover states provide sneak peeks, and oversized cursors add to the retro web vibe.

A standout feature is No Chaos Mode, a pared-down version that minimizes animations and glitches while maintaining the site’s spirit. The mobile experience preserves the interactivity, with optimizations ensuring smooth performance across all devices.

Built on the TT4 block theme, the site includes custom code for drag-and-drop functionality, alongside the Toggle Block plugin for switching between chaos modes.
