Johan Ernst

Johan’s new website transforms his online presence from a static landing page to a dynamic showcase of his extraordinary expeditions and conservation efforts with Re:wild. Featuring bold colors inspired by his gear, a custom interactive globe, and a sleek, modern design, the site sets him apart from other explorers.

Johan’s old website was an outdated, unresponsive landing page that failed to reflect his incredible explorations. We reimagined it with a bold, modern design using bright colors on neutral backgrounds, a geometric typeface, and ample space for Johan’s stunning photography to shine. The vibrant orange accents draw inspiration from the gear he wears on his adventures, reinforcing his personal brand.

A standout feature is the interactive globe, built using the open-source Globe.GL library. This custom-built element allows users to explore Johan’s expeditions in an immersive way, dynamically mapping each journey with clickable markers that display detailed exploration posts. The backend makes it easy to add new locations, automatically generating pins on the map. For those who prefer a more traditional approach, a “linear” view provides a scrolling alternative.

Beyond the globe, we integrated a fun stats counter on Johan’s About page, giving visitors a snapshot of key milestones from his adventures. With additional stats on the way, the site will continue evolving to reflect Johan’s ever-growing list of achievements. The final result is a website that captures his vision, sets him apart in the exploration community, and provides an engaging platform to share his journey with the world.
